About Me
I am a dual PhD candidate in the Department of Folklore & Ethnomusicology and the Department of History at Indiana University. My research interests are music, migration, disaster, race, community, grief, and place.
My dissertation, The Music of Miracle City, examines music and social life in the largest housing development in the United States during World War II. My work aims to amplify the multicultural soundscape of this unique and diverse community and to explore the harmonies and dissonances of a pluralistic sonic commons in the United States.
I grew up in NE Portland and have lived in Bloomington, Indiana for the last five years. When I am not working, I can be found playing music, hiking, and cuddling my pitbull/supermutt puppy.
